OIL DRILLING IN ROCHESTER HILLS?
|OIL DRILLING IN ROCHESTER HILLS?
Rochester Hills City Council and Mayor Barnett have signed a lease contract with Jordan Oil to use Tienken Park, Nowicki Park and Stoney Creek Cemetery for gas/oil exploration and mining of their resources. The Rochester Hills City Council and Mayor Barnett signed this lease with Jordan Oil December, 2012 and have yet to hold a public hearing to ask/obtain resident views/wishes/concerns.
By signing this lease document with Jordan Oil, Rochester Hills City Council and Mayor Barnett have also approved Jordan Oil to knock door-to-door in neighborhoods to seek out and obtain individual homeowners leases. The combined acreage of our City parks and residential property is what Jordan Oil needs so they can request approval from our state to begin drilling.
Think it all sounds wrong? We do. Mayor Barnett has not asked our opinion on gas/oil drilling in our residential community. We need to share our concerns now to stop oil/gas drilling from moving further.

I do not support drilling in rochester hills
I strongly oppose any gas or oil company drilling in Rochester.
Why are you doing this, city council? It has to be about money! What about your residents? Their safety and their property and their water. I just don’t understand?
